Hong Kong’s Beauty
Here’s my update as promised.
A mix of the new with the old as you can see the new tower is surrounded by older complexes near the bottom of the building.
Looking at this makes me hungry.
Here’s a more technical photograph. I applied the rule of thirds by using the entire bamboo structure which is the focus of the picture.
Another rule of thirds picture…the water and land form one horizontal line and the tallest tower in Hong Kong form a vertical line with the entire building in nodes.
A water fountain at Victoria Peak.
At top of the building. It was very cloudy that day so I was a bit worried. And as you can see there are also other photographers with tripods…I made a good decision of going up early and holding a good spot. So if you ever want to take a picture up in Victoria Peak go before sunset and go early.
I think this picture is okay…except for the clouds.
Then the clouds started to break.
I like this the best, I got very lucky because behind me was a full moon and it gave the clouds a very beautiful glow when the sky started clearing. It didn’t clear up all the way but it still works out nicely for me.
A ancient tree at the Big Buddha site…I wish I had taken snap of the sign explaining the tree.
The surrounding area around the Big Buddha.
The place where I picked up my new 50mm F1.4, taken with the lens I bought.
Busy
Well I haven’t had time to post any new pictures because I was moving out of San Diego and saying my farewells. Now I’m leaving for Hong Kong for three weeks…but I got a new wide lens a Nikkor 12-24mm just for the trip, I also got the SB-600 Speedlight. I’m excited to play with my new toys. Once I’m back I’ll be ready to post a lot of new pictures…it’ll be a huge update.
A few things to look forward to:
- Pictures using the rule of thirds.
- The amazing city scape of Hong Kong (but it’s been done before so I gotta make it different yet give it the same feeling).
- The architecture of Hong Kong, both modern and old.
- Candid shots of the lovely people of Hong Kong.
- Maybe volleyball action shots (lighting was bad and I didn’t have a good lens nor flash to help).
- Some camping shots of the landscape.
Bye bye…see you in three weeks!
